Product Management Apprentice
The Sidebench Apprenticeship program is a 3-month, full-time paid developmental internship that is designed to provide the Apprentice with valuable & meaningful first-hand experience within a specific discipline. This specific track is for aspiring Product Managers .
The program is an ideal fit for someone looking to grow their career and gain insight into product management. As an Apprentice you will:
- Gain significant exposure to all areas of product management within one of the fastest-growing digital product consultancies in the US
- Support current Product Managers across a variety of different projects while contributing to key deliverables
- Be given opportunities to lead meetings, manage deliverables and grow in a structured and rapid manner
- Be challenged to think big & creatively solve problems and turn those solutions into processes that improve the efficiency of your team and the company as a whole
- Have a dedicated mentor throughout the apprenticeship who is there to help guide you and provide regular, structured feedback
- Work with and learn from a team of smart, friendly, and fun techies who genuinely care about your development
Responsibilities
You will work with Product Managers and our delivery team to streamline the client experience from start to finish. You’ll be depended on to help the team run smoothly and to help Sidebench deliver a great product. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Learn to constantly think like a product manager by validating problems, defining success metrics, ideating, identifying risks, conducting and analyzing research, advocating for the user and drafting the product roadmap
- Think BIG picture and apply this level of thinking to everything you do; your job is not to complete tasks, your job is to understand why you are doing what you are doing and how it adds value
- Learn how to build and maintain product documentation that pertains to budgeting, strategic planning, client deliverables and more
- Draft meeting agendas to maximize your time and arrive to these meetings with poise and the confidence to lead if necessary
- Update stakeholder status documents to clearly communicate updates to our clients
- Successfully coordinating resources from multiple teams and demonstrate the ability to manage key processes to ensure on-time and high quality delivery
- Aid in the research process before, during, and after client engagements
- Work with our UX team to brainstorm and define key features
- Coordinate and participate in user interviews and user testing
- Participate in design critiques and reviews
- Lead internal projects and process improvements
- Work with QA and dev teams to define Google Analytics event tracking for future dev projects and update event tracking for existing projects
- Create QA test plans and lead QA on multiple projects
- Communicate with clients and represent Sidebench as a client facing employee
- Find ways to overachieve and go above and beyond whenever the opportunity presents itself
Qualifications
- Must be responsive, pro-active, enthusiastic, and adaptable
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage tasks effectively
- Some exposure to product management or similar disciplines in a previous role
- Some experience with the web or app development process
- Ability to produce detailed and well-organized documentation (have a knack for effectively summarizing concepts, thoughts, and research)
- Strong research and analytical skills and problem solving ability
- Genuine interest in technology and product design
- Self-starter with demonstrated capacity for independent initiative
- Extreme attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience acting as a leader in the workplace, classroom or a similar organization
- Must be able to commit to a full-time role for a period of 3 months

At the conclusion of the 3-month program, pending your performance and company needs, there is the potential to transition to a full-time, salaried role. During the apprenticeship, the hourly rate will be $15-$18/hour depending on level of competency.
